Helping Others Help Themselves Via KIVA

June 29th, 2009

I am now adding this as a permanent page in the Helping Others Section.

There is a link at the top of this blog that I set up, originally on the Easy Ways Blog, to Help Others.  One of the ways is through a donation to Kiva.

I had a bit of a challenge in doing the loan thing but have figured it out now with help from them.

My own page is here.  My KIVA lenders page.  You can follow my “loans” there.  Over time I will be making more.

Basically you are making no interest loans to help others who will pay you back over 6 months to a year and then you can relend the funds or take it back. You are lending funds to the working poor so they can help themselves and their families. I will just keep  relending  the funds.

To learn more about KIVA, the process and what is behind it. Please Go Here Now. Some of the organizations that support KIVA are PayPal, Google, Utube, Yahoo, Facebook, Intel, Microsoft, Starbucks, Bill Clinton, Me and others. There are many more.

So consider this if you wish, I urge you to do so.  I was going to post something else with this but it is important enough on it’s own.

Many people wish to help others and feel powerless to do so.  For as little as $25 your can make a contribution towards reducing poverty one small step at a time.  Show others the same thing is possible creating a ripple effect that will resonate throughout the global community.

If you wish send me funds via Paypal,  $5 to $25 and I will add it to my account and lend it when it hits $25.  Just contact me using the contact form above.

Take this small step to help others help themselves.  Please take it now.

Thank you.

Cheers,

Gene
