The Road Ahead

You took my mind out for a ride
Playing havoc with my pride
Changing gears in a flash
Coming down I hit the dash

Down the road we sped along
Passing memories in a song
No cares no worries got in the way
It was clear we came to play

Then just as quick we hit a curve
On a dark road we had to swerve
Looking back now I do know
The road we traveled was on snow

Frozen thoughts have melted away
I am looking at a brand new day
Too many potholes back down that road
Forward looking now is my mode
