right side of the brain Archives

Once in awhile I get feedback at times about how something I have said or presented which has been inspiring to someone. The payoff for that is not monetary and sure the ego is involved.  In this sense the ego is a good thing. As long as I don’t let it get out of hand that part of the ego can serve me well. It does not happen that often so it really is not difficult to keep the ego in check!

People do feel good if they are able to help someone else, not in an enabling kind of way, just by being, planting a seed or two, providing an idea or a way for someone to have something make a difference to them.

There are many inspirational things being presented online. I imagine many do not know about them or where to find them.  Sometimes things just come to us, drop into our laps or hit us over the head to wake us up when we need it. We may be thinking about something, looking for something and the message or the messenger suddenly appears with what we have been asking for.

Being open to all possibility can bring synchronicities, coincidences and the like to us seemingly out of nowhere.  Or what I sometimes like to refer as nothing.  No Thing.  That brings to mind.  “Where does creativity really come from?” This is not an easy question to answer.  I’ll touch a bit more on this later.

I have been listening to some of the talks and such on TED.  See the link I’ve added on the left hand side of this blog. There are some remarkable and inspirational talks and music presented there.  I knew of TED before and had not been there for some time.  Something recently pointed me in that direction once again.  I think it was when I was exploring something about Stephen Hawking and his quest about life and the theory of how the Universe came about.  In any case it is all about synchronicity, coincidence and such.

Back to the TED site.  One amazing talk that really stood out for me is:

Steve Jobs: How to live before you die

Many of us have heard idea and concept “do what you love and the money will follow” or something similar. The first part of that phrase is the important part and the second part is just a bonus should it come.

This talk by Steve Jobs can be viewed on YouTube.

I was really moved by this talk and what it meant.  It is so powerful and evokes emotions as well as bringing awareness to things we do not really know before hand and discover the significance later on.  Sometimes what we feel are the most adverse and difficult things, out of that can come our finest moments.  It we accept and allow them to happen.  That is not an easy thing to do.  We can easily become stuck in our creations and in the muck that we find ourselves in.

If encourage you to explore the TED site and find some gems of your own over there.  It is well worth the trip, IMO.

I will be back later to talk a bit more about creativity and such. I could add more now but I feel this is is powerful enough on its own to let it sift and simmer within us.

May your creations be many and serve you well.

Well I suppose it is time to go green and provide a bit scenery from the other half of the excursion I made to Cordova Bay then hiking up the back side of Mt Douglas aka Mt Doug.

First though I am going to give an award to a fellow friend and blogger who writes very well and is a treasure.  Her name is Lydia and she has a blog entitled Serenity Talk for which you will find the link to on the right hand side.

The flower is not from Mt Doug, it is one I found in my yard.  Very pretty and appropriate I think.

Ok, so back to the trek up the mountain.  It is quite a climb but well worth the effort.  Here is what I found along the way. You must let your imagination run wild using the right side of your brain which is the most important one you know, for creativity.

Well, the first one is a beaver eating a dog , a croc, or something.  Surely this is a Canadian beaver.

For sure this is a beaver.  It is really clear.  You can see the foot or hand at the bottom.  I go with foot. But who’s foot is it?  Is partially consumed and being sucked in? That is one huge foot, magpie.

What Is That Beaver Eating? Oh No!

There is definitely a monster up this tree.  Look carefully at the menacing eyes and snout.  Looks like a werewolf from hell.  Or is it from Transylvania? Do not mess with this sucker if you want to get out of the forest alive.  I had to run like a bugger to escape, believe you me.  It is clearly excreting something below.  Well see more on that down aways.

A Freaking Monster Up That Tree

This one has one eye or two with one covered with the focalized brains exposed.  They are not going to get my brains out of my head like that. I am out of here, quick!

Holy Focalized Brains Exposed!

I am afraid to even guess what is in here.  This tree is possessed.  Yikes!  NO NO do not stick your fingers in the crack.  It is a trap and you will be pulled in and devoured and become part of this scene in no time.

Almost eaten alive and regurgitated into the abyss

Thank God I got out of there before they got me!  But I think I have to go back, I forgot something there. Well that is part of the trip.   You should see the obstacle course I had to cover.  That will have to wait.

Cheers,
